Shakiyla Hughes, senior psychological science, communication and Applied Critical Thought and Inquiry major, St. Louis, was named the 2017 William Jewell College Homecoming Queen. She received the honor during the college’s Homecoming weekend, Sept. 29-30. She is the president of the Black Student Association and represented Zeta Tau Alpha as part of the Homecoming festivities.
Troy Williams, senior political science and Applied Critical Thought and Inquiry major, Smithville, was named the Homecoming King. He is president of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, and represented the organization as part of the festivities. He also plays on the men’s soccer team and was an orientation director.
The Homecoming festivities included a celebration of Golden Classes, the Jewell Athletic Hall of Fame reception and induction, class reunions and many other events.
