William Jewell to host eclipse viewing, educational demonstrations

William Jewell College invites the community for the once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the Aug. 21 total solar eclipse. The College is located in the path of totality, and the total eclipse will last a little more than two minutes beginning at 1:08 p.m.

Jewell’s free viewing event will take place at Greene Memorial Stadium with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. The Society of Physics Students and physics faculty will host music and programming from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Telescopes with solar filters will be available to view partial phases of the eclipse, and students will offer eclipse models and other science demonstrations. A supply of solar glasses will be available for guests to use.

Parking is available adjacent to the stadium.
