First-Year Applicants

Step 1

Submit the Online Application for Admission
--Your application for admission doubles as your application for Jewell's Achiever & Presidential Academic Scholarships.
--William Jewell College is also a member of the
Common Application. No institutional supplement to the Common Application is required.
--Oxbridge Honors Program and Nursing Applicants please see below for additional items needed.

Step 2

Submit Your Official Transcripts and Test Scores
--Print the Secondary School Report form to provide to your guidance counselor as a reminder to send us your transcripts and official ACT or SAT test scores as well as any additional information they would like to include.
--Jewell's institutional codes for standardized tests are: ACT - 2394 and SAT - 6941

Apply for Co-curricular and Talent Scholarships
--This includes music, theatre, debate and other opportunities you may be interested in. For a complete list and application criteria please click

Oxbridge Honors Program Applicants Only:
The
Oxbridge Honors Program is a select honors program for students who wish to pursue an Oxbridge major field of study through individual and small-group tutorials and by independent reading and research. The program also involves a year of study at Oxford University. In addition to the first-year application for admission requirements indicated above, interested students should submit the following items to complete their application for Oxbridge consideration:
  • Two academic recommendations from teachers or professors.
  • Substitute the following Oxbridge essay prompt for the personal statement requested on the Jewell application for admission. Your essay should be between 250-500 words in length:
    • Please comment on the statement by Lewis Mumford, “One of the functions of intelligence is to take account of the dangers that come from trusting solely in intelligence.” What is he claiming? What insight to you derive from all this?
  • Applicants must first be admitted to William Jewell College before their Oxbridge Honors Program application will be considered. Upon acceptance to Jewell, the Oxbridge committee will review your application and select candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview with a panel of Oxbridge faculty.

January 1: Jewell Begins Accepting the FAFSA
--The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the only way to find out about state, federal and institutional grant aid as well as student loans that you may qualify for.

May 1: Late Application Date
Late deadline to apply for admission for the upcoming fall term
