Meet our Executive Advisory Council

The William Jewell College Executive Advisory Council, formed in 2010, is a select group of distinguished business leaders who provide advice, counsel, wisdom and encouragement to the Department of Business and Leadership.

Members of the Advisory Council include, from left, Michael Torno, vice president of human resources, Viracor IBT; Dawn Barnes Morhaus, senior vice president of the Treasury Services Division, The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; Scott A. McCormick, founder and chief vision officer, VML, Inc.; and Gary Bussing, director of retirement planning and franchise owner, The Mutual Fund Store, LLC.

Three student members of the Council provide additional insight to department leadership:  Jalene Brandom ’11, Megan McConnell ’12 and Taylor Brown ’14.

Mock Stockmarket
Accounting students team up with the Urban League of Kansas City to help break the cycle of poverty. Playing a stockmarket game with area high school students teaches more than financial education; it teaches teens they have the power to change their future.
