At William Jewell College we value and encourage great thinking.

What is Cardinal Term?

Cardinal Term is the interim period between the fall and spring semesters at William Jewell College during which the College offers a number of activities, including Cardinal Term Seminars, Jazz Vespers program, book discussions and film screenings, along with time for Jewell students to participate in undergraduate research and internship opportunities.

All events are open to members of the Jewell community, and many are also offered to the general public. Cardinal Term runs from January 8 to January 12, 2012.

Cardinal Term Activities

 Seminars
Cardinal Term Seminars scheduled during the winter break allow Jewell alumni, faculty and friends of the College to share their expertise in a variety of topics and subject areas with students and community members. No credit is given and there is no cost for the courses.

 Village Partners Honduras Project
Alumni, friends and community members are invited to join William Jewell College students and faculty and staff members as they continue the Village Partners Project in Embarcadero, Honduras.

Over the past eight years, more than 130 students have participated in this interdisciplinary approach to community-building in which participants apply expertise from their individual fields of study to real-world issues. This year’s effort focuses on working alongside village residents to build ecological latrines for each village family. For more information, contact Dr. Lori Wetmore, associate professor of chemistry, or campus minister Jeff Buscher

How do I enroll for the Cardinal Term Seminars?
