Sotheby’s Institute of Art
This series of intensive 4-week Summer Study courses held in London and New York and 2-week Summer Study courses in New York offer interesting and compelling insights into the art world and include lectures and seminars led by Sotheby’s Institute of Art faculty, international experts and leading practitioners in the field. There are no formal requirements for the Summer Study courses or for the short courses.
US-China Education and Culture Exchange Center
The Center sponsors several programs fostering the educational and cultural exchanges between Americans and Chinese. One of our programs is the TESL Summer Camp in which American college students to travel to China to teach English as a second language to Chinese elementary, middle, and high school students for several weeks in the summer. PPIA Junior Summer Institute at Princeton University
The PPIA Junior Summer Institute is a seven-week program structured to introduce or strengthen skills in economics, statistics, policy analysis, writing, public speaking and organization/time management. At the end of the seven-week program, students will prepare and present a comprehensive group report on a current policy issue that will encompass the skills acquired in their coursework, including the seminar on the intercultural dimensions of policy making, field research, policy analysis, and writing and computer workshops. Each student enrolled in the PPIA Junior Summer Institute is fully funded and receives financial support for the total cost of the following: all courses and textbooks, an on-campus meal plan and a meal allowance for breakfast and weekend meals, access to the University libraries and athletic facilities, a single room in a dormitory reserved solely for JSI students, domestic travel expenses for arrival to the program and departure at the end of the program, and a $1,500 stipend. Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program
The Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program combines a paid public policy internship with two career skills seminars and weekly policy lectures. You’ll gain real-world experience, take a crash course in market-based policy analysis, and hone your professional skills. The intensive ten-week program begins in June and includes a $1,500 stipend and a housing allowance. Internships are available at more than 70 think tanks and nonprofits involved with state or federal policy located across the United States. IHS Journalism Internship Program
Sharpen your journalism skills during a paid internship in print, broadcast, or investigative journalism during the fall, spring or summer. The IHS Journalism Internship Program offers internships at newspapers, major media networks and state-based policy organizations. Past interns have worked at 20/20, the Orange County Register, CNN, Fox News, and many other companies and organizations. We're looking for skilled writers passionate about liberty and who support individual rights and free markets. Previous experience is a plus but not required. We encourage students from all disciplines, including political science and economics, to apply. Undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates of all majors are eligible. As part of the internship program, you’ll attend a weeklong, summer journalism workshop during the summer of 2012. You’ll receive career advice from experienced journalists, learn economic tools for understanding political and economic issues, and explore the foundations of a free press. Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs
Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) is a fully funded national fellowship program for seven weeks in the summer between the junior and senior year of college. The Junior Summer (JSI) enrolls wither college juniors or seniors who will graduate in the fall semester. The program develops skills in policy analysis, statistics, cultural and global awareness. Many alumni of PPIA pursue a master’s degree in public policy and international affairs. Information is available at wws.princeton.edu.

Trials: Training and Recruitment Initiative for Admission to Leading Law Schools
Trials is a residential scholarship program that helps talented and motivated college students of modest means gain admission to the nation’s leading law schools. This rigorous five-week summer course enhances opportunities for students of underrepresented backgrounds by bolstering their skills and focusing their goals. For five weeks in July and August, Trials students take residence at Harvard or New York University. The residency alternates from year to year, with Harvard Law School hosting the program in 2012. Students have no expenses associated with the program and will receive a $3,000 stipend to supplement their summer income. CBCF Congressional Fellows Program
CBCF Fellows work in congressional member and committee offices, attend leadership development seminars, complete a community service project and produce policy papers. Office assignments as full-time legislative aides run from September through August. During the office placement, Fellows gain invaluable experience as they assist in the development of legislative and public policy initiatives. Fellows work 40 hours per week on a range of staff assignments, including legislative analysis, responding to constituent mail, drafting talking points and speeches for members, and coordinating logistics and public testimony for Congressional hearings. Fellows also have educational enrichment opportunities through seminars on policy and politics. These seminars explore hot-button policy issues, the politics of policymaking and policy implementation, and evaluation of policy already implemented. Fellows are also exposed to the history and work of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and prepared to analyze the impact of policies on African Americans and other minority groups. Participants in the Congressional Fellows Program must reside in or relocate to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Fellows are paid an annual salary of $40,000, with benefits. CBCF Louis Stokes Urban Health Policy Fellows Program
The Louis Stokes Urban Health Policy Fellows Program is a 12-month policy training and leadership development program that targets early to mid-level policy professionals who are committed to eliminating health disparities nationally and globally. CBCF Louis Stokes Fellows receive health policy training while working in a CBC Member’s personal and committee office. Typically, they spend five months working in a congressional member’s office and the remaining seven months working on a congressional committee that focuses on health-related issues. CBCF complements the fellows’ policy training on the Hill by providing opportunities to improve and develop leadership skills so they can be more effective in their professional roles. The program also includes educational enrichment opportunities through seminars on policy and politics. These seminars explore hot-button policy issues, the politics of policymaking and policy implementation, and evaluation of policy already implemented. CBCF Congressional Internship Program
Established in 1986, the CBCF Congressional Internship Program answered the call to help diversify our democracy by increasing the pool of talented public servants. This intensive nine-week summer program offers the opportunity for college students from across the nation to learn about the legislative process, leadership and careers in the policy making process. Interns work in CBC member offices, attend professional development events, and participate in leadership development projects. The program prepares young people to become informed decision makers and influential leaders who shape our world. CBCF Emerging Leaders Internship Program
The Emerging Leaders Internship Program sponsored by Walmart is a semester-long paid internship for college students. Interns work four days on Capitol Hill, in federal agencies and at non-profit organizations. Past interns have served in various capacities at the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and on House and Senate committees. On Friday afternoons, interns attend educational seminars that focus on domestic and international issues, participate in leadership-training sessions and visit cultural and historical sites in the Washington, D.C., area. Each cohort must complete a team community service project in the surrounding community. CBCF provides housing and a stipend. CBCF Communications Internship Program
The CBCF Communications Internship is a semester-long program for college students who are interested in learning about press and media relations on Capitol Hill. Interns work with the press secretary or communications director in Congressional Black Caucus member offices. Interns contribute substantially to their host offices by researching legislation, preparing press releases, writing op-editorials, writing arguments for a position, organizing and helping to prepare for briefings and forums, and performing various office tasks. For over 20 years, WISH has been housing interns working for the U.S. Congress, the Supreme Court, the White House and all Federal Agencies, as well as the Smithsonian Museums, the Pentagon, newspapers and media networks, law and lobbying firms, embassies, associations, non-profit organizations, university programs and more. WII Embassy and Diplomatic Scholars Program
During your internship, you have an opportunity to interact with experts and professionals. As a WII intern, you become an active member of the office staff with real responsibilities. You can expect to fully participate in office life, attending meetings and special events, performing research, writing reports, preparing briefings, etc. Recent placements include: an international development internship at the Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs, a policy internship at the State Department NATO office, and internships at the Embassy of Mexico and Embassy of France. WII Go Green!
In a city with dozens of national and international organizations focused on environmental issues, students will choose the internship that best fits their interests. Potential internships include tracking national legislation for the Environmental Protection Agency, writing press releases for World Wildlife Fund, or researching energy issues for the Climate Institute. Students will gain exposure to the policies, people, and institutions that shape federal environmental decision making. All classes are taught by established faculty who have earned their doctorate degree, taught at the college level, and held faculty rank. Harvard University Graduate School of Design Career Discovery
The six-week summer Career Discovery program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design welcomes people from recent high school and college graduates to seasoned professionals. And not just people considering a career in design or planning, but people with a broad spectrum of interests and remarkably diverse plans and goals. What they have in common is the drive and desire to seek the answers to those questions. Participants in our program commit themselves fully to a path of intensive studio work, lectures, workshops, and field trips. Deeply immersed in a culture that is both challenging and rewarding, they experience what education and work are like in the design and planning professions.
