Recruiters visit campus to interview students for entry-level positions, internships, part-time, and summer positions. The Recruiter Calendar, released shortly after each semester begins, is updated during the semester as scheduled. Students must be registered with resume in Career Services prior to signing up. Students sign up for interviews through eRecruiting. Mock Interviews are also available throughout both semesters. Scheduling is a facilitated by Judy Rychlewski, Director.

Up-Coming Recruiter Events:

Public Service and Nonprofit Career Fair – Sponsored by several WJC departments. This fair features agencies from government and nonprofit organizations offering infomercials and one-on-one contacts in a booth format to recruit candidates following the presentation. This event will be held February 14th.

COSMC-Heart of America Interview Day – Co-sponsored by seven KC area colleges, interviews are held on various campuses to enable employers to interview targeted candidates from the combined institutions on the date/campus of their choice. Registration for spring is requested through career offices from January 23rd to February 20th. The date of the interview is February 28th. More information can be found here.

Health Professions Career Day – Representatives of medical and allied medical programs discuss entrance requirements and uniqueness of their programs with projective students. This event is coordinated by the pre-med committee and will be in February.

Teacher Fair – School personnel administrators conduct short screening interviews with teacher candidates. Coordinated by the Education Department, this fair will take place on March 8th.

Transitions in Tight Times – Recruiters lead break-out sessions on a variety of topics relevant to transitioning from college in an economic downturn. This program is held on March 22nd in the Yates Dining Hall located in the YGCU.

Etiquette/Networking Dinner – Sponsored by four area colleges and universities and underwritten by corporate sponsorship, this event is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they will need in business and social settings. The dinner is in March at the Embassy Suites Hotel near the airport.
