Jewell Awards & Grants
The following awards are offered by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services to students meeting eligibility criteria. Additional applications are not required.
The Achiever Award is offered to qualified applicants, as determined by the scholarship committee, at the time of admission in an amount up to $10,000 annually. Achiever Award consideration recognizes students with a 3.5 high school GPA and an ACT score of 21 or 22 (SAT score between 980-1040) with the potential for academic success. Applicants already receiving an academic scholarship are not eligible for the Achiever Award
The Dilts Award is a one-time $500 award presented to one student who wishes to major in biology and participate in undergraduate research during the first year. Requirements: 3.75 GPA or higher/top 90% on standardized test.
A need-based award that is variable based on the results of the FAFSA and other financial aid received by a student. Applicants completing the FAFSA prior to William Jewell's Priority Deadline will receive a priority on a funds-available basis.
$2,000 Awarded to students whose immediate family member is a Jewell alumnae. Eligible students include:
- A student whose parent (including step-parent) graduated from William Jewell College;
- A student whose sibling graduated from William Jewell College;
- A student whose sibling currently attends William Jewell College and has completed at least one full-time semester.
Out-of State Grant
Up to $1,500 awarded (amount determined by financial need) to non-Missouri residents to offset the loss of state aid by not attending an institution in a student's home state for the Fall 2014 only. Applicants must have completed the FAFSA by April 1, 2014 to be eligible and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.50.
