Flute Choir to perform at William Jewell Contact: Rob Eisele, 816-415-7574 February 23, 2011
The William Jewell College Department of Music presents the Flute Choir in concert on Tuesday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Grand River Chapel on the Liberty campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Flute Choir will present a program that includes an arrangement of My Shepherd Will Supply My Needs, by the British hymnodist Issac Watts; Children of the Wind, a celtic reflection of the terrain in Wales by the American composer Catherine McMichael; as well as arrangements of Vocalise by the Russian composer Rachmaninoff and the ever-popular 12th Street Rag written in Kansas City by Euday L. Bowman, a Texas-born pianist and composer.
Members of the Flute Choir are Haley Hibbeler, Paxton Toy, Samantha Brant, Sarahbeth Ward and Florence Cunningham. Bryan Bartling will accompany the choir on string bass. The Flute Choir is under the direction of Elaine Brown, adjunct instructor of music.
