Danny Brown attended Jewell from 1967-72 and lettered in three sports: football, basketball, and baseball. He was considered one of the greatest passers in WJC football history. Unfortunately, injuries shortened his athletic career at Jewell. During his time of participation Brown threw for 22 touchdowns as a junior. Jewell’s four year record in football during Danny’s stay was 35-6-1, including three conference titles. He was named MCAU All-Conference and NAIA All-District as a junior and senior. He was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 1970. He was a starter as a freshman in basketball (the only year he played). Brown played on Jewell’s 1970 baseball team which won conference, district, area champs. The team also played in the NAIA World Series.
