Edward Payne attended Jewell from 1953-57. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Payne was 1st Team All-Conference selection in football and a 2nd team selection in basketball. He played on three conference championship football teams and two conference championship basketball teams including Jewell’s first national tournament team in 1957. Payne was named Jewell’s Athlete of the Year in 1957.
