Herman Grant lettered in football, baseball and track. He was selected 1st Team All-State in football four consecutive years. He was considered one of the greatest all around athletes in Cardinal history. He competed in the pole vault, hurdles, discus, javelin and high jump in track.
Grant died in a swimming accident in the fall of 1934 and the WJC baseball complex is now named in his honor.
