William Jewell College crowned its Homecoming queen, senior Charlotte Belshe, and king, senior Austin Baragary, at halftime during Jewell’s Homecoming football game on Sept. 28.
Belshe of Denver, Colo., is a nonprofit leadership and Spanish major. She is a Pryor Leadership Fellow and Cardinal Blazer, and is also involved in Mortar Board, Nonprofit Leadership Association and Alpha Gamma Delta. Her internship experience includes the Children’s Museum of Denver and the Kansas City chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In the fall of 2012, Belshe studied abroad in Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador, focusing on peace studies and social justice.
Baragary, a native of Tonganoxie, Kan., is president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, marketing intern for the Kansas City Opera and managing editor of the campus newspaper, The Hilltop Monitor. A Pryor Leadership Fellow, Baragary is majoring in rhetoric and political communication and minoring in nonprofit leadership. His other involvements include Mortar Board, the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society and Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society.
