William Jewell College has been recognized by the NCAA Division II as the Great Lakes Valley Conference winner of the Community Engagement Award of Excellence. A national winner will be chosen from among the 20 conference finalists and recognized at the Division II National Championships Festival in Louisville in May.
Community engagement is a Division II initiative directed at building meaningful, long-lasting bridges among athletics programs, their institutions and the communities in which they are located. William Jewell was recognized for its involvement in the Challenger Baseball Camp program which provides opportunities for physically challenged children to participate in baseball training and competition on specially equipped fields.
