Summary
Full-time, tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor of History specializing in United States history, to begin August 2011.
Qualifications
- Completed Ph.D. with primary field in United States history, colonial or 19th century preferred.
- Secondary field(s) in Latin America, East Asia, and/or Sub-Saharan Africa highly desirable.
- Record of teaching excellence.
- Evidence of scholarly achievement and potential for more.
- Commitment to teach in the interdisciplinary Core Curriculum.
- Interest in supporting undergraduate research.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Normal teaching load is three 4-credit courses (12 credit hours) each semester.
- Some teaching is done in the Oxbridge Honors Program, teaching in the British tutorial style.
- Committee and departmental meetings.
- Advising.
