Men's and Women's Soccer: Coaching Staff
Jefferson Roblee will begin his first season as Head Men's and Women's Soccer Coach in 2011. Roblee spent the previous five seasons as Associate Head Coach at Jewell. During Roblee's five years, the programs have found unprecedented success qualifying for the National Championship Tournament four times, advancing to three quarterfinals and two National Semi-final appearances. Those years included the men's team being ranked as high as #1 in the nation and women's team being ranked as high as #7 in the nation. In addition both men's and women's programs at Jewell have earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the past four years.
Besides his experience coaching college soccer at William Jewell College, Roblee has had experience guiding ambitious young players in club, Olympic Development and elite amateur soccer. He has been involved with Missouri ODP, coached the KC Pace to Missouri State Cup championships in 2005 and 2006 and was the Head Coach of the Kansas City Brass of the United Soccer League's Premier Development League when they qualified for the U.S. Open Cup in 2007. He has also coached teams at the Pro Pace Soccer Combine and evaluated for Sporting KC (MLS) at their open tryouts.
Roblee played college soccer at The University of Tulsa for coach Randy Waldrum before finishing his communications degree at Park University. He played his high school soccer at nearby Winnetonka for coaches Don Gianola and Glenn Rosario and played club soccer for George Derra’s UHS Apollos. In addition he played three years in Missouri’s ODP program.
Roblee has a USSF National coaching license and a NSCAA National Youth Coaching Diploma. He is also a member of the U.S. Soccer Coaches Association and a member of the United States Youth Soccer Coaches Connection. Roblee is also a certified Double-Goal Coach in the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Jefferson Roblee’s twin brother, Lincoln Roblee, is the Head Coach of the women’s soccer team at Benedictine College.

Josh Howard, a 2008 graduate of William Jewell, spent four years as a starting defender for the Cardinals. He earned numerous honors including Heart of America Athletic Conference and Region Defender of the Year in 2006 as well as NSCAA/adidas All-America second Team and All-Tournament at the NAIA National Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. Howard helped lead the Cardinals to a conference championship, regional championship and an NAIA National semi-final appearance in 2006. He was also a co-captain of the Cardinals when the team was ranked number one in the nation for two weeks during the 2007 season.
During his college summers he played for the Kansas City Brass of the USL’s Premier Development League. As a central defender Howard helped the Brass qualify for the 2007 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. With the Brass, Howard earned PDL All-Central Conference first team honors as well as All-PDL first team honors and was a finalist for the 2007 PDL Defender of the Year.
After his college success Howard participated in the 2007 USL College Showcase in Charleston, S.C. He later played with the Kansas City Wizards (MLS) reserves in exhibition and official MLS Reserve League matches in 2008. After training and playing with the Wizards, Howard moved to Sweden where he signed professionally with Soderhamns FF of the Swedish Second Division in 2009.
A native of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Howard was a standout at Lee’s Summit North High School for coach Tim Richardson, where he earned Missouri Western Region Defender of the Year and All-State first team honors. He played his youth club soccer for KCFC coached by Doug McClagan and KC Attack coached by Emilio John.
Besides his volunteer coaching at William Jewell College, Howard has experience assisting high school and youth club teams as well as being a regular staff member at the William Jewell College All-Star Soccer Camps.
