“Othello,” Shakespeare’s tragic portrayal of love, deceit, jealousy and murder, will be performed Feb. 21 through 25 in Peters Theater on the William Jewell College campus in Liberty, Mo. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21, 22, 23 and 24, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Feb. 24 and 25. Tickets are $5 for all students with an ID and $6 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at the theatre box office before each performance or in advance by calling 816-415-7590.

Shakespeare’s brilliant work centers on Othello and his corrupt officer Iago who, for his own professional gain, manipulates Othello into believing his new wife has been unfaithful with Cassio, a younger officer. The story takes a tragic turn as Iago’s lies and Othello’s misconceptions become dangerously intertwined.
