Medical Scholars Program with the University of Missouri - Kansas City
The UMKC School of Medicine offers a Medical Scholars Program that offers early and guaranteed admission to undergraduates interested in applying to medical school. Students at a limiting number of institutions, including William Jewell, may apply to this program at the end of their sophomor or junior year.
Applications become available each year on May 1 and must be submitted by September 1. An applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, with no grades below B-minus in the sciences.
A person who is accepted into the program must meet the following requirements in order actually to enter medical school:
- Finish a bachelor's degree.
- Earn a combined MCAT score of at least 26.
- Earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Earn a 3.5 GPA, with no grades below B-minus, in 19 hours of prequisite chemistry courses and 14 hours of prerequisite biology courses.
