Undergraduate research is focus of colloquium at Jewell Contact: Rob Eisele, 816-415-7574 March 26, 2008
William Jewell College will showcase student research initiatives and creative activities during the eighth annual David Nelson Duke Undergraduate Colloquium on the Liberty, Mo., campus April 17. Regular classes will be suspended for the day in order to involve all students in the celebration. The public is invited to attend any of the day’s free events; reservations or tickets are not required.
Celebrating the Life of the Mind: A Day of Undergraduate Scholarship and Creativity involves students presenting their scholarly works to faculty, staff and the community at large through oral presentations, performing and visual arts, public speaking and readings of creative writing. The colloquium will allow students from all academic disciplines to receive recognition for their unique ideas and studies.
Celebrating the Life of the Mind begins at 9 a.m. with the first research presentations, and presentation sessions continue throughout the day campuswide. Presentation topics are reflective of the full breadth and depth of the liberal arts and sciences.
