The Department of Music at William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo., announces the concert locations for the upcoming Handbell Choir Tour:
Thursday, February 23 7:00 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 13800 E. 106th Street North, Owasso, Okla.
Friday, February 24 7:00 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Penn Avenue, Independence, Kan.
Saturday, February 25 7:30 p.m., St. John’s Lutheran Church, 302 S. 7th Street, Salina, Kan.
Sunday, February 26 6:00 p.m., Holmeswood Baptist Church, 9700 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo.
Performing on over five octaves of handbells and handchimes, the choir will present a varied program of classical transcriptions, sacred arrangements and original works. Included are pieces by noted handbell composers Cynthia Dobrinski, Fred Gramann, William Payn, Joel Raney, Arnold Sherman, and Timothy Waugh.
Members of the choir include Natalie Henderson from Owasso, Carolyn Klenda from Salina and Annie Birzer from Leawood.
