William Jewell College Handbell Choir to present concert Contact: Rob Eisele, 816-415-7574 March 19, 2008
The William Jewell College Handbell Choir will perform their Spring Concert at 3:00 p.m. April 13 at Chandler Baptist Church, 11401 33 Highway, Liberty. The free choir performance, under the direction of Christie White, is open to the public; tickets or reservations are not required.
The choir performs on 5-plus octaves of Malmark handbells and handchimes. The program includes sacred, secular, transcriptions and original works for handbells. Works by noted handbell composers Arnold Sherman, William Payn, Paul McKlveen, Rima Greer and Timothy Waugh will be presented, as well as Mozart’s “Overture to the Marriage of Figaro” and “Wizards in Winter” by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.
The choir includes local students Rachel Aunspaugh, Jacquie Essary, Abigail Pratt, Lydia Pratt and Marcie White from Liberty, and Elizabeth Waterland from Kansas City, North.
