community is reaching out to victims of Hurricane Katrina with offers of admission and a fundraising drive.
“We will accept students from any of the affected colleges and will be flexible in helping them with getting into courses,” said President David Sallee. The fall semester began at the
Liberty, Mo.
, campus on Monday, August 29.
In addition, the Student Senate has launched a fundraising drive on campus, with money going to hurricane relief efforts at the American Red Cross. Student senate president Colin Chambers said that the drive was begun in the college’s dining hall at lunch today and would continue through mid-day on Friday. Contributions will also be solicited at the college’s weekly Worship Jam session in John Gano Memorial Chapel on campus tonight. About $300 was raised during the initial collection at lunchtime today.
Inquiries about enrollment should be directed to the admission office at 1-888-2JEWELL.
