William Jewell flute and handbell choirs to perform
The William Jewell College Flute and Handbell Choirs will perform Tuesday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Gano Chapel on the Liberty, Mo., campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Flute Choir, directed by Elaine Brown, features the entire flute family: piccolo, concert flute, alto flute and bass flute. Members will present the hymn Wondorous Love by local arranger Donna Robertson; Masques, an original composition for flute choir by Anne McGinty; and Moto Perpetuo, op. 11 by violinist Niccolo Paganini.
The Handbell Choir, directed by Christie White, will perform on more than five octaves of Malmark handbells and choir chimes. Their selections include Celebration Fanfare by D. Shawn Berry; an arrangement of Come, Thou Almighty King by Fred Gramann; Sky-tinted Waters, a programmatic suite inspired by the lakes in Minnesota, by Cathy Moklebust; and CreationEtere, a tribute to astronauts who have lost their lives, by Timothy Waugh.
