“Pippin’s” music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz, composer and lyricist of the current Broadway hit “Wicked.” The musical follows the exploits of young Pippin, son of King Charlemagne, as he attempts to find his own “corner of the sky.” The original Broadway production opened in 1972 and ran for nearly 2,000 performances. The show featured Tony Award-winning direction and choreography by Bob Fosse.
