William Jewell’s Society of Physics Students cited for excellence Contact: Rob Eisele, 816-415-7574 December 18, 2007
The William Jewell College chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) has been selected as an Outstanding SPS Chapter for the 2006-2007 school year.
The selection is based on the depth and breadth of SPS activities conducted by the chapter in such areas as physics research, public science outreach, physics tutoring programs, hosting and representation at physics meetings, and providing social interaction for chapter members.
“This is a significant honor for our students, and a testament to their level of academic engagement in the field of physics,” said Dr. Blane Baker, professor of physics at William Jewell and faculty advisor to the college’s SPS chapter.
