Richard M. Wright, Jr. has been named to the William Jewell College Board of Trustees. His term on the liberal arts college’s governing board will begin in October.
Wright, a member of the William Jewell College class of 1978, has been a director and shareholder of Gilmore & Bell, P.C., Kansas City, Mo., since he joined the firm in 1992. Previously, he was an associate attorney and then a partner with Shook, Hardy & Bacon, Kansas City, Mo., for 10 years. Wright is a summa cum laude graduate of William Jewell and a 1981 graduate (cum laude) of Harvard Law School. He is primarily engaged in public finance and securities law aspects of public finance at Gilmore & Bell. He is a frequent speaker on securities law aspects of public finance.
Wright is married to SueAnn Wright, a University of Kansas graduate. Their daughter, Julie, graduated from William Jewell in 2002 and their younger son, Richard, is currently a student at William Jewell. Their older son, Robert, is a junior at Colorado School of Mines, majoring in physics-engineering and economics.
