Job Title: Assistant Football Coach/Director of Football Operations

Reports to: Head Football Coach

FLSA Status: Exempt

General Function

The Assistant Football Coach assists with all aspects of the intercollegiate football program, including recruiting, coordination of travel and durable equipment procurement, and on campus facility scheduling and on field coaching. The Head Football Coach is fully responsible for compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations as well as Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) rules and all College policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Defensive Assistant – Reports to defensive coordinator and Head Coach
• Assists with recruiting of football student-athletes.
• Coordinates with Head Coach on all Team travel, fall camp meals and equipment rental.
• Assists with Official Visit transportation and logistics.
• Assists head coach with supervision of work study students and student assistants
• Comply with all administrative staff on reports and forms that need to be completed.
• Monitor the travel roster online to assure that it is completed prior to travel in coordination with the Head Football Coach.
• Conduct the sport program in strict accordance with NCAA and GLVC rules and regulations.
• Be an Administrator for either softball or baseball home events in accordance with the schedule put together by the game manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Progressive experience as a collegiate football coach.
• Knowledge of fiscally responsible travel opportunities.
• Commitment to proper organization of all team travel and travel manifests.
• Knowledge of and commitment to strict adherence to NCAA, GLVC and institutional rules and regulations.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with a strong understanding of the importance to detail.
• An understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in the environment of private higher education with the ability to work with a diverse population

Working Conditions

Normal office environment as well as indoor and outdoor athletics facilities. Some travel required. Evening and weekend work required. Physically able to lift 25 pounds and attend practice and competitive sessions indoors and outdoors.
