Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

  • Planning, organizing and directing all activities involved with a Division II Women’s Basketball program in season and off-season.
  • Recruiting, in accordance with college policies and procedures, players who can successfully compete at the Division II level. Planning and conducting on–campus recruiting events for official and unofficial visits. Developing a familiarity with and operating recruiting and compliance software. Evaluating talent and recruiting prospective student-athletes. Handling all official and unofficial visits per NCAA rules and William Jewell College policies.
  • Ability in off season to work with athletic administration to further enhance the department in events.
  • Assist with all home events and coordinating with departmental operations staff in the conduct of home events.
  • Assisting with all planning of team travel to away events and completing travel rosters online of those traveling in compliance with William Jewell College policies.
  • Coaching responsibility for women’s basketball players as well as encouraging and actively monitoring the academic progress of players.
  • Maintaining knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, GLVC, and college rules and regulations.
  • Participating in departmental activities to include potential service on committees and attendance at all athletic department meetings.
  • Participating in community service and fund raising activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated commitment to NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational communications.
  • Work experience and level of success in recruiting and coaching.
  • Advanced computer skills. 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Evening and weekend work required, out of town travel required.
