Job Title: Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Reports to: Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

General Function

Assists the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in designing and implementing strength and conditioning services to 20 NCAA Division II teams and cheer, as well as organization, management, and development of the William Jewell College Strength and Conditioning Department, while earning an approved Master’s degree of your choice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in all aspects of the William Jewell College Strength and Conditioning program
• Design and implement sport specific training programs for 3-5 assigned sports teams
• Ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills
• Supervise team workouts in Head Strength Coach’s absence
• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Athletic Performance facility and Fitness Center
• Comply with all appropriate William Jewell College, Great Lakes Valley Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Other related duties assigned by Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required (exercise science related field preferred)
• Working toward or already obtained a certification from an accredited strength and conditioning organization (CSCCA, NSCA, USAW, etc.).
• Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Experience working in a NCAA/NAIA 4-year college or university weight room with a variety of teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and strength and conditioning related technology is encouraged.
• Must meet requirements for admittance to an approved online graduate program

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift and carry 50 –75 pounds
• Ability to withstand adverse weather conditions, i.e. extreme heat or cold
• Long hours and weekend work are required
