The Department of Music at William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo., announces concert locations for the upcoming Handbell Choir Tour:
Thursday, February 21 7 p.m., First Baptist Church, 1101 N. Main St., Sikeston, Mo.
Friday, Feb. 22 11 a.m., Portageville Middle School, 904 King Ave., Portageville, Mo. 7 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 300 College Ave., Kennett, Mo.
Saturday, Feb. 23 5:30 p.m., Cabool United Methodist Church, 501 Paul St., Cabool, Mo.
Sunday, Feb. 24 2 p.m., Missouri Recital Hall in the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts, Cottey College, 1000 W. Austin Blvd., Nevada, Mo.
Performing on over five octaves of handbells and handchimes, the choir will present a varied program of classical transcriptions, sacred arrangements and original works. Included are pieces by noted handbell composers Anthony Chapman, Kevin McChesney, Catherine McMichael, Mary Kay Parrish, Martha Lynn Thompson and Margaret Tucker.
