Students may apply for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a First-Year Direct Entry applicant. Admission for First-Year Direct Entry applicants is based on William Jewell College's general admission requirements for all majors of study. First-year, traditional applicants who meet William Jewell College's standards of admission are admitted to the Department of Nursing as "direct entry" students. If an admitted Jewell student has declared nursing as their major, a seat will be reserved for them that can be claimed at the start of nursing coursework (the time of which is specified by the student's assigned faculty advisor) provided the student has maintained a William Jewell College cumulative GPA above 2.7, and has passed all prerequisite coursework as specified by the student's faculty advisor in accordance with the curriculum specified by the Chair of the Department of Nursing and William Jewell College.

Students interested in applying to Jewell as a nursing major are encouraged to create a Next Steps Meeting with their admission counselor. Visitors may choose to attend a campus tour, attend a class (Nursing classes are not guaranteed), and/or visit the Department of Nursing. To schedule a visit, please direct your web browser to www.jewell.edu/visit or call 816-415-7511.
