Disability Services Grievance Policy

William Jewell College promotes an environment of respect and support for individuals with disabilities, and will make reasonable accommodations for such individuals pursuant to applicable law. If a an individual feels that he/she is not receiving the appropriate accommodation or is experiencing difficulties with current accommodations, he/she should contact the 504 and Compliance Coordinator at 816-415-7556 or henrymr@william.jewell.edu as soon as possible. The 504 and Compliance Coordinator will work with all parties involved to resolve the issue.

Individuals who have been unable to resolve accommodation concerns or difficulties through the 504 and Compliance Coordinator should reference the General Grievance Policy for reporting information.

Complaints by individuals with disabilities, who allege their rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, or the Fair Housing Act have been violated due to discrimination or harassment, should reference the following policies for reporting information:

> Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunity Notice

Individuals are encouraged to attempt to resolve grievances internally; however, they also have the right to file a complaint at any time with the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights.
