December 2016 Grad Candidates: December grads are invited and encouraged to participate in our official Commencement Ceremony on May 13, 2017.

Commencement: The 2017 Commencement Ceremony will be on Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. in the Mabee Center. Several activities are scheduled throughout the day beginning with a Baccalaureate service at 9 a.m.  View the commencement day schedule.

Applying for Graduation: Students are expected to apply for graduation when they reach 75 completed hours, in order to be properly tracked by the Office of the Registrar. An Application for Graduation must be completed online to be submitted electronically to the Office of the Registrar. Students planning to graduate in May, July and December 2017 should have applied for graduation by now. Seniors who have not applied for graduation will not be cleared to enroll in a required CTI Capstone course, and will not be included in the distribution of information to grad candidates. Students who change their anticipated graduation date must re-apply for graduation by submitting a new online Application for Graduation.

Academic Regalia Policy and Info: Grad candidates who walk at Commencement are required to rent their regalia through the Campus Bookstore. Academic regalia includes mortar board cap, gown, and bachelor’s hood (or master’s hood) in a specific style and a red tassel to keep. High school regalia or borrowed regalia will not be allowed. Regalia for each May Commencement is available for rental only at WJC’s Campus Bookstore, beginning on the day of the Grad Fair in March. (Students must be either a previous December graduate or listed as “on track to graduate” in May or July to rent regalia.)
