Washington Monthly magazine has placed William Jewell College No. 11 in the nation among liberal arts schools for community service in its 2016 rankings.
Jewell’s ranking comes from an analysis of the college’s community service participation and hours served. Further, Jewell placed in the Top 50 in the magazine’s broader ranking of service.
The service rankings helped Jewell land on Washington Monthly’s 2016 list of nationally ranked liberal arts “Colleges That Contribute to the Public Good.” The magazine rates schools based on their overall contribution in three broad, equally weighted categories: social mobility, research and service.
