festivities sponsored by the college. All events are open to the public. The holiday
calendar includes:
Hanging of the Green
10:15 a.m. December 3
John Gano Memorial Chapel,William Jewell College campus, Liberty.
An all-campus musical celebration, featuring the Handbell Choir, the Jazz Band
and Chamber Singers; free admission.
Lighting of the Quad
7 p.m. December 4
Gano Chapel and Quadrangle,William Jewell College campus, Liberty.
Families are invited for a time of music and celebration of the season in the chapel with the
Symphonic Band, followed by a lighting ceremony on the Quad; free admission.
Christmas Festival
7:15 p.m. December 9
Second Baptist Church, 309 W. Franklin, Liberty.
William Jewell Chapel Choir, Chamber Singers and instrumental
ensembles present a service of introspection and
celebration for members of the Liberty and college
communities; free admission.
The City Come Again
Noon. December 15
Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral,
Broadway at 13th Street,Kansas City
Jewell’s Christmas gift, in words and music, to
the city, featuring the college’s Handbell Choir
and Concert Choir, along with a seasonal
homily from President David Sallee;
free admission.
