¨ Saturday, November 15th—EAP Evening with Harriman-Jewell, 8:00 p.m. Come see the amazing Compañía Flamenco José Porcel dance group, and go out to Sheridan’s for free ice cream after the show! (Courtesy of the Educational Advancement Program and the Jewell Writing Center). We will meet in front of Brown Hall (by the red phone booth) at 7:00 p.m. and carpool to the event.
¨ Monday, November 24th—Responsible Self Book Review: St. Augustine’s Confessions, 10:15 a.m. Join Dr. Elizabeth Webb, professor of Religion, in Peters Theater for an in- depth discussion of St. Augustine’s Confessions. This review will emphasize the distinctive characteristics of a classic Christian worldview, and discuss the main themes of order and disorder, and pride and humility found in Augustine’s book.
¨ Friday, December 12th—Responsible Self Book Review: Bhagavad-Gita, 10:15 a.m. Join Dr. Milton Horne, Professor of Religion, in Peters Theater for a fascinating discussion of the Bhagavad-Gita. Dr. Horne’s review will focus on the depiction of human beings’ relation to material and ultimate realities in the Gita.
¨ Monday, December 15th (Dead Day)—End-of-semester party in the Writing Center! 10:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m. Come have some food and fun at the Writing Center to celebrate the end of the semester! We promise to serve cookies. |
