The Colloquium is designed to acquaint undergraduates with the process and academic rigors of presenting research, creative projects, or performances in a scholarly manner. Additionally, the Colloquium will stimulate interaction between students and faculty, as well as students and students, while also allowing students to showcase their academic achievements.
Applications, including an abstract, should be submitted electronically to the supporting academic department by Friday, February 18, 2005. Each department will then submit three ranked proposals by Friday, February 25, 2005 to the Undergraduate Colloquium Committee, chaired by Dr. Blane Baker. The Committee will make final decisions by Friday, March 11, 2005.
Applications and sample abstracts are available in the campus email public folders under “Undergraduate Colloquium.”
Each department and/or sponsoring faculty member is responsible for preparing students to present their work, including listening to the student presentation in advance of the Colloquium. A student may have no more than two sponsoring faculty members.
