The following are Departmental Awards offered at William Jewell College:
Oxbridge Honors Scholarship- $11,500 (limited availability)
Requires admission to the Oxbridge Honors Program. This award is inclusive of your William Jewell College academic scholarships and gift aid eligibility. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 must be maintained.
Talent and Athletic Awards (Athletics, Art, Debate, Journalism, Music, Theatre, Telecommunication) - Varies
Talent and athletic awards are based upon a student's participation in certain academic departments or co-curricular activities (e.g. athletics, art, debate, journalism, music, theatre, telecommunication). It is required that you make contact with the appropriate program director/coach before an award can be recommended.
Dilts Award - $500
The Dilts Award is presented to one student who wishes to major in biology and participate in undergraduate research during the first year. Requirements: 3.75 GPA or higher/top 90% on standardized test.
H.I. Hester (Religion) Award- Up to $4,500 based on qualifications and financial need
Available to a religion major with a vocational interest in Christian ministry who has a high school GPA of at least 3.5. By February 1, applicants should submit the Christian-Related Vocation Application, a letter from a local church affirming the student's pursuit of a vocation in Christian ministry and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Hester Award may not be combined with the Christian-Related Vocation Award.
