A loan for educational expenses is an option if you are eligible or if your parents qualify.  A loan must be repaid, but your repayment begins only when you  cease to be enrolled at least half-time, and favorable interest rates apply.  The following Loans are offered at William Jewell College:

Federal Perkins Loan - $200-$4,000

The Federal Perkins Loan is based on demonstrated need.  FAFSA submission is required.

Federal Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan - $3,500-$5,500

The Subsidized loan is based on class year (first-year, sophomore, etc.), and on demonstrated need.  The Unsbusidized loan is based on class year and is a non-need-based program.  FAFSA submission is required.  For more information and to view WJC's preferred lender list for Stafford loans click here. 

Federal Parent Loan - Borrower Requested

Based on credit-worthiness, the Federal Parent Loan is a non-need-based program; however, FAFSA submission is required by the college.  For more information and to view WJC's preferred lender list for PLUS loans click here.

Alternative Loans - Borrower Requested

Home Equity Loans - Varies

Home equity Loans are an excellent source of financing for families with equity in their homes.  For details, contact your area lender.  Generally, interest paid on home equity loans qualifies as an itemized tax deduction reducing the after-tax rate to one that may be lower than the alternative financing options.
