Organizational Structure

The Executive Director reports to the College President, supervises Center staff, and is responsible for all aspects of the Center.

The Center Staff is the Executive Director, a part-time secretary, and a part-time associate. The Center Staff is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Center, on-campus programming, concentrated learning events, and local action projects.

The Management Team is comprised of the Center Staff, a representative from the Office of College Relations and Marketing, and a representative from the Office Institutional Advancement. The Management Team is led by the Executive Director.

The Steering Committee advises the Center’s Management Team on non-curricular work of the Center. The Steering Committee meets four times per year and gives direction in the areas of Mission, Public relations, Fund-raising, and the Summit. The Steering Committee includes not less than five or more than 10 representatives drawn from current students, alumni, and friends.

The Academic Committee plans, implements, and assesses integrated learning for justice and sustainability. The Academic Committee also advises on concentrated learning events. The Academic Committee is composed of the Associate Dean for Core Curriculum, Jewell faculty who teach Level II Core courses, current students, and the Executive Director.

Once each year the Steering and Academic Committees meet jointly.

Representatives of the Management, Steering, and Academic groups comprise an Awards Committee for considering applications for and awarding of Projects for Justice and Sustainability.

The Advisory Group is composed of persons who advocate for and raise the profile of the Center.
