Wellness Center is “State-of-the-Art”
The new William Jewell College Wellness Center is now open. The Wellness Center is located on the southwestern corner of Ely Hall and is open seven days a week for all William Jewell College students, faculty and staff. The hours of operation will be 5 a.m. to midnight daily.
The Wellness Center is a state of the art facility offering opportunities to work out using a wide array of fitness and weight machines. The facility features this fitness equipment in addition to having a small locker room for both men and women. Moreover, all cardio equipment is wired for cable television. Users may bring their own personal ear phones to plug into the TVs for personal use. In addition, the Health Center will be located within the Wellness Center, offering students the opportunity to be seen by the College’s Director of the Student Health Center, Dottie Plattenburg, R.N., during normal Health Center hours (8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday through Friday).
Wellness Center privileges are reserved for William Jewell College students, faculty and staff only. Memberships will not be made available to Liberty community members. Faculty and staff will be able to accompany family members over the age of 14 to workout in the facility, but must remain present in the Wellness Center while family members utilize the facility.
This is an extra opportunity for the College community to focus on personal wellness and fitness, as it supplements the expansive athletic and fitness facilities located within the Mabee Center.
The Wellness Center will be operated by the Office of Student Affairs. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Wellness Center operation, feel free to contact Student Affairs at 415-5963.
