Eight students and three faculty members from Jewell attended the 235rd national meeting of the American Chemical Society in New Orleans during April 2007.   Students presenting posters were ...

Allyson Fry, "Phase behavior of choline halide/phenylacetic acid mixtures."
Samantha Held, "Synthesis of a novel isatin-based hydroxamic acid histone deacetylase inhibitor."
Natasha Villanueva, "Comparison of QSAR and docking studies of histone deacetylast inhibitors."

Dr. Jason Morrill and
Dr. Jeremy Rush were the faculty advisors for these students.

Eleven students and four faculty members from Jewell attended the 233rd national meeting of the American Chemical Society in Chicago during March 2007.   Students presenting posters were ...

Allyson Fry, "Synthesis and surface-plasmon resonance spectroscopy of silver nanoparticles prepared by gas-phase condensation."
Matthew Kastner, "Effect of C-terminal tail truncation in GroEL on protein folding."
Katherine Perko, "Investigation of the cholesterol content distribution within phospholipid bilayer vesicles using fluorescent analysis."
Christopher Pennell, "Investigation of the effect of cholesterol content on phospholipid bilayer vesicle disruption by common amphipathic solvents."
Ashley Baker-Ihde Popejoy, "Investigation of abnormal cell cycle progression and cyclin expression in U138MG glioma cells."
Leah Wahl, "Investigation of hydroxyethyl acetate and hydroxyethyl methacrylate effects on membrane permeability in L929 mouse fibroblast cells."

Dr. Lori Wetmore was the faculty advisor for four of these students.
