Commencement 2010 will be Saturday, May 15th, 2010, 1:00 p.m.  Baccalaureate will be at 9:00 a.m. the same day.  Watch this web page for upcoming details and "schedule for the day."

Commencement Regalia
Grads who are planning to walk at Commencement are required to rent official bachelor's regalia (cap/gown/hood/tassel) thru the Campus Bookstore (no regalia from high school or college may be worn).  Regalia should be picked up no later than May 1st.  The rental fee is $52 and includes cap, gown, and bachelor's hood, plus red tassel to keep.  Additional tassels and souvenir bachelor's hood will be available for purchase online after graduation (www.herffjones.com/college/graduation).  Grad candidates (and December '09 grads) who did not obtain regalia at the Grad Fair may do so at the Campus Bookstore during regular bookstore (8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday).  For December grads or others who cannot come to campus during those hours, it is possible to arrange a late pick-up time by contacting the Bookstore (816-415-5956).  Regalia can also be ordered by phone and shipped for a nominal shipping fee.  A complete Commencement schedule and instructions for grads are included with the regalia.

December '09 Grads 
Congratulations to all our recent December '09 grads!  December grads walk at the May Commencement ceremony on May 15th, unless you have requested in writing to graduate in absentia (form available at the Registrar's window).  December grads who did not attend the Grad Fair and plan to walk at Commencement may get commencement regalia (cap/gown/hood/tassel) at the Campus Bookstore during regular bookstore hours, or you may contact the Campus Bookstore (816-415-5956) to arrange shipment or a later pick-up time.

Grad Fair (March 10, 2010)
The third annual Grad Fair was held on March 10th in the Bookstore Lobby of Yates-Gill Union with 191 grad candidates attending!  The annual Grad Fair is a "one-stop shop" for upcoming grad candidates (and previous December grads) to "take care of business" with the Registrar (commencement/diploma info), Business Office (student account), Financial Aid (exit papers), as well as pick up regalia (cap, gown, hood, tassel), order announcements, rings, and other graduation-related items.  For those who did not attend the Grad Fair, you may see each of the above offices individually and obtain regalia thru the Campus Bookstore (see Regalia above).

Grads wishing to purchase photographs taken at Commencement may do so online at www.gradimages.com or by contacting the company at 800-261-2576. 

Applying for Graduation
Students are expected to apply for graduation when they reach 75 completed hours, in order receive a Graduation Checklist and to be properly tracked by the Office of the Registrar.  An Application for Graduation card must be completed in person at the Registrar's window in Greene Hall.   The Office is currently accepting applications for May 2011 and beyond.  Students planning to graduate in May 2010, July 2010, and December 2010 should have applied by now--if you have not, you must do so immediately!  Students who change their anticipated graduation date must re-apply for graduation at the Registrar's window.  (Seniors who have not applied for graduation prior to registration will not be cleared to enroll in a CTI capstone course.)
