The Greek community at William Jewell is governed by the Interfraternity Council (IFC), which oversees the men's fraternities, and the Panhellenic Council, which oversees the women's fraternities and sororities. These organizations are dedicated to the development of programs for the entire Greek community and the improvement of the Greek system.

Attributes inherent to membership in a William Jewell affiliated fraternity or sorority include:

Scholarship
The Greek community strives for academic excellence among its members. All chapters at William Jewell maintain GPA requirements for joining and for assuming major leadership roles.

Leadership
Membership in a fraternity or sorority provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills. Since Greek-letter organizations are self-governing in nature, members elect their own leaders and implement their own rules. You can become involved in many leadership positions in the chapter and in the governing councils. Members are also encouraged to join other student organizations.

Community Service
Involvement in the community through service projects is an important aspect of fraternity and sorority life. Greeks are internationally recognized for their hard work and dedication to national charities, local service agencies, and the university communities where they live. William Jewell College Greek organizations sponsor a multitude of activities throughout the year to raise money and provide service for specific philanthropic projects.

Getting Involved
The recruitment process for joining a fraternity or sorority is designed to give Greeks and prospective members the opportunity to meet and learn about each other. By participating in these activities, you will get to see all the options open to you. Recruitment activities occur during the first few weeks.
