Richard Bowles

Induction: October 9, 1998

Dick Bowles attended Jewell from 1945-49 and graduated in just three years. He served the military from 1946-1947. While at Jewell, Bowles lettered in football, basketball, and track. His father was the legendary R.E. Bowles. R.E. Bowles was a WJC coach and the Athletic Director for 35 years. Dick Bowles was the youngest of four brothers, all of whom played sports at Jewell. He was the leading scorer on the basketball team as a freshman. He was also voted Jewell’s ‘Athlete of the Year’ as a senior. Bowles went on to become the team physician for the Cardinals as well as a member of the WJC Board of Trustees.
