 Jeff Buscher '81 began his work as Campus Minister at William Jewell in August 2004. Jeff coordinates student ministries and community service. Prior to coming to Jewell, Jeff was Student Pastor and Minister of Eduation at Sunnyside Baptist Church, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Jeff has been on the ministerial staffs of Easthaven Baptist Church, Kalispell, Montana and Boyd Avenue Baptist Church, Casper, Wyoming.
Jeff describes his approach to ministry as creating an atmosphere where students encounter God and grow in faith through hands-on experiences. In the process of 'doing,' students learn about being 'followers of Christ.' Jeff also sees student ministry as integral part of Jewell's ongoing conversation about faith and learning. By blending academics and Christian faith, students are challenged to explore how Christianity works in the real world.
After graduating from Jewell with majors in religion and philosophy, Jeff completed a Master of Divinity degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1986. Between college and seminary, Jeff worked for two years in the Christian High Adventure program based in Montrose, Colorado. Jeff and his wife, Kayle, have two children: James, 18, and Kenna, 16.
