Dianne (Jeter) Shumaker ’66 believes in the power of providing an unrestricted gift to William Jewell College every year. To demonstrate their commitment to transforming the culture of giving at William Jewell, Dianne and her husband Paul have pledged a total of $500,000 to benefit the Jewell Fund. This gift comes in the form of a challenge, focused on increasing participation and unrestricted annual giving. The Shumaker Challenge is divided into three separate phases covering a two-and-one-half year time period.
The third and final phase of the Shumaker Challenge requires two simple actions from alumni in order for William Jewell to recieve an additional $200,000 challenge gift: 1) at least 25% of alumni must give a gift of any size to William Jewell, and 2) at least 100 alumni must provide a three-year pledge to the Jewell Fund.
Last year, 21.5% of alumni provided a gift to William Jewell. Will you be one of the 3,300 alumni (25% of the alumni population) who help Jewell achieve Phase III of the Shumaker Challenge?
