William Jewell senior goal keeper Rebecca Ewing (Shawnee, Kan.) was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Ewing helped lead to Cardinals to a 1-0 win over conference rival MidAmerica Nazarene University last week.  Ewing had a streak of five consecutive shutout victories that was broken in last night's 1-0 loss to Avila University. 

The Cardinals begin the HAAC tournament at home on Tuesday, November 10 against Avila University.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Greene Stadium on the campus in Liberty, Mo.
