The William Jewell College campus newspaper The Hilltop Monitor came home a winner from the Missouri College Media Association's annual meeting held April 18 in St. Louis. Kyle Rivas was named Photojournalist of the Year for the second time. In addition, the following awards were presented:
Kyle Rivas: 1st place photo page, 1st place and honorable mention sports photography, 1st place news photography and 2nd place and honorable mention feature photography
Selina Rios: 1st place editorial cartoon
Jonathan Entzminger: 3rd place sports column
Emily Hyder: Honorable mention entertainment review
Samantha Sanders: Honorable mention feature photography
Nick Manoogian: Honorable mention news photography
Andy Kirk: Honorable mention regular column
J.P. Bartmess: Honorable mention sports writing
Other Hilltop awards included 2nd and 3rd place sports page, 3rd place sweepstakes, and honorable mention for best overall newspaper and editorial/op-ed page
