Reports To:              Vice President for Academic Affairs     

 

Summary

 

Responsible for the overall direction, management and operation of academic support programs in the Academic Achievement Center 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Implementing, coordinating and directing the AAC as it integrates in a central location the College’s various programs which enhance academic success and excellence of all students (tutoring, coordination of the disability disclosure and accommodations process and work directly with students with disabilities; and development and supervision of programs for students in academic difficulty.) 
  2. Foster student academic achievement by increasing the visibility and accessibility of existing academic enrichment programs and by identifying and developing additional such programs. 
  3. Improve student retention, enhance student satisfaction, and support faculty members in their ongoing interactions with students. 
  4. Other responsibilities as requested by the Vice President    

Supervision 

Direct supervisory responsibilities for the Coordinator of Tutors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master’s degree in counseling, guidance, education or related field; doctorate preferred. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of undergraduate students. 
  • Understanding of and commitment to student-centered learning and experiential education. 
  • Previous experience in the area of academic support, preferably in a small, residential private liberal arts college, is preferred.  

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.  Comprehensive benefit and competitive compensation package.  Twelve-month administrative assignment.
